The EDMmodelMigrator supports a company in migrating their data from a legacy data system to a different product data support environment, such as a PDM system. EDMmodelMigrator addresses the need for a gap analysis between the legacy data model and the target data model. The analysis, which should accompany any purchase of a new product data support system, shall document to which degree the new system covers the data requirements of the company. The Mapping Analysis Tool assists the user in the production, management, and follow-up of this gap analysis.
The EDMmodeMigrator is a web-enabled client-server solution, which enables multi-user operation. Internet browsers serve as graphical user interface. The server may be hosted by any Windows/UNIX/LINUX-system. All data is managed by an EXPRESS database management system on the server.
